Digital Signature Certificate, commonly called DSC, is widely used in India for income tax filing, MCA filing, GST, tender submission, company compliance, e-procurement, and many other government or business portals.
Care4Sign provides an e-KYC-based DSC application and download process. After your DSC is approved, you need to import/download the certificate into a crypto USB token such as HYP2003.
This tutorial explains the updated Care4Sign DSC process step by step, including login, DSC order placement, pending DSC verification, payment, video KYC, passcode usage, Care4Sign Token Application installation, and final DSC import into the HYP2003 token.
What is Care4Sign DSC?
Care4Sign is a digital signature certificate platform where users can apply for DSC using e-KYC. The platform allows individuals and organizations to apply for Class 3 DSC for signing, encryption, or other supported certificate purposes.
A DSC is generally stored inside a secure USB crypto token. In this tutorial, we are using the HYP2003 USB token.
What is HYP2003 Token?
HYP2003 is a USB crypto token used to securely store your Digital Signature Certificate. Once the DSC is imported into the token, you can use it on different government and business portals.
The DSC is not normally downloaded as a simple file. It is imported directly into the USB token using the Care4Sign Token Application.
Important Things You Need Before Starting
Before starting the Care4Sign DSC download process, keep the following ready:
- Care4Sign login details
- PAN number or e-KYC user ID
- e-KYC password
- Registered email ID
- Registered mobile number
- DSC Order ID
- Download Passcode
- HYP2003 USB token
- HYP2003 token password / token PIN
- Care4Sign Token Application setup file
Example setup file name:
setup_ecs_Care4SignTokenApp_1.0.2601.0201.exe
Difference Between Important Passwords and Codes
Many users get confused because Care4Sign uses multiple codes and passwords. These are not the same.
| Name | Purpose |
|---|---|
| e-KYC Password | Used to login to Care4Sign e-KYC portal |
| Download Passcode | Used with Order ID to download/import DSC into token |
| Token PIN / Token Password | Used to unlock HYP2003 USB token |
| BP Code | Business Partner Code, used if your DSC is linked with a partner/vendor |
| Order ID | Unique DSC order reference number |
The Download Passcode is very important. It is usually sent during the first registration/order process by email or SMS. You need this passcode later while importing the DSC into the token.
Step 1: Login to Care4Sign e-KYC Portal
Open the Care4Sign e-KYC portal in your browser.
You will see the login screen where you need to enter:
- User ID
- PAN or selected user type
- e-KYC password
- Captcha
If you are using PAN as the login method, enter your PAN in the first box and select PAN from the dropdown.
Then enter the e-KYC password and captcha.
Click:
Step 2: Open DSC Application Form
After login, you will reach the Care4Sign dashboard.
From the left-side menu, click:
DSC Application Form
This is where you can apply for a new DSC certificate.
Step 3: Fill DSC Application Details
On the Apply Certificate page, you need to fill or verify the details.
Common fields include:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Your registered email ID | |
| KYC Type | Aadhaar / PAN based |
| Customer Type | Individual / Organization |
| Mobile Number | Registered mobile number |
| PAN | Your PAN number |
| Certificate Type | Signing |
| Certificate Class | Class 3 |
| Validity | 1 year / 2 year |
| Name | Your full name |
| Date of Birth | As per KYC |
| Address | Your address |
| Pin Code | Postal code |
| City | City name |
| District | District name |
| Business Partner Code | Optional |
If you do not have a Business Partner Code, you can continue without it, depending on the portal behavior.
What is Business Partner Code in Care4Sign?
The Business Partner Code, also called BP Code, is used when your DSC order is linked with a Care4Sign partner, vendor, reseller, or agency.
If your DSC vendor gave you a BP Code, enter it.
If nobody gave you a BP Code, you may continue without it or ask your DSC provider.
Step 4: Select DSC Amount and Token Option
On the same application form, you may see pricing details such as:
- DSC Amount
- Crypto Token
- Support Charge
- Crypto Token & Delivery
- Grand Total
Choose the correct option depending on whether you already have a USB token or want to buy one.
If you already have an HYP2003 token, you may not need to buy a new token.
After confirming the details, click:
Apply Certificate
Step 5: Go to Pending DSC Section
After applying, go to the left-side menu and open:
DSC โ Pending DSC
This section shows your pending DSC records.
You may see columns like:
- Order ID
- E-sign Status
- Payment Status
- Video Status
- Document Status
- Creation Date
If the table is empty, refresh or check whether the order was submitted correctly.
Step 6: Complete Payment, Video KYC, and Documents
Inside the Pending DSC section, you need to complete all required steps.
Usually, this includes:
- Payment
- Video KYC
- E-sign verification
- Document verification
- Final approval
Your DSC will not be ready for download until the required verification steps are completed.
Wait until the DSC status becomes approved, issued, or ready for download.
Step 7: Find Your Order ID and Download Passcode
After you apply for DSC, Care4Sign generally sends the Order ID and Download Passcode during the first registration or order process.
The passcode may be sent to:
- Registered email
- Registered mobile SMS
- WhatsApp from DSC vendor
- DSC provider/agent communication
Search your email and SMS using these keywords:
Care4Sign
Download Passcode
DSC Passcode
Order ID
Certificate Download
eKYC
DSC Download
Important: The Download Passcode is not your Care4Sign login password and not your HYP2003 token PIN.
What to Do If You Cannot Find the Download Passcode
If you cannot find the passcode in email, SMS, or portal, contact your DSC vendor or Care4Sign support.
You can send this message:
Hi Team,
I need to download my DSC into HYP2003 token using Care4Sign, but I cannot find my Download Passcode in email, SMS, or portal.
Please resend/share the Download Passcode or guide me where to retrieve it.
Order ID: [Your Order ID]
Name: [Your Name]
Registered Mobile: [Your Mobile Number]
Registered Email: [Your Email]
PAN: [Last 4 digits only, if required]
Thanks.
Do not share your full PAN or sensitive details publicly. Share them only with the official support/vendor channel when required.
Step 8: Download Care4Sign Token Application
Once your DSC is approved, download the Care4Sign Token Application.
The setup file may look like this:
setup_ecs_Care4SignTokenApp_1.0.2601.0201.exe
Install this application on your Windows system.
Recommended steps:
- Download the setup file
- Right-click on the setup file
- Choose Run as administrator
- Complete installation
- Restart system if required
Step 9: Insert HYP2003 USB Token
Before opening the Care4Sign Token Application, insert your HYP2003 USB token into your computer.
Make sure:
- Token is properly inserted
- Token driver is installed
- Windows detects the token
- Token is not damaged
- USB port is working
If the token is not detected, try a different USB port or reinstall the HYP2003 token driver.
Step 10: Open Care4Sign Token Application
After installing the Care4Sign Token Application, open it.
You will see an application window with options like:
Import
About
Exit
Click:
Import
The application will ask for:
- Order ID
- Download Passcode
Step 11: Enter Order ID and Download Passcode
Enter your DSC Order ID and Download Passcode.
Example:
Order ID: 659206
Download Passcode: ********
Then click:
Lookup
The application will connect to the Care4Sign server and fetch your certificate details.
Step 12: Import DSC into HYP2003 Token
After successful lookup, the application should show your certificate details.
Now continue with the import/download process.
You may be asked to:
- Select the token
- Enter token password / token PIN
- Confirm import
Enter the HYP2003 token password.
In many vendor-provided tokens, the token PIN may be set by the vendor. For example, some vendors may set a default PIN such as their company name, but this depends completely on the DSC provider.
If the PIN does not work, contact the vendor who provided the token.
Step 13: Wait for Import Completion
Do not remove the token during import.
Wait until you see a success message similar to:
Certificate imported successfully
or
DSC downloaded successfully
Once completed, your DSC is now stored inside the HYP2003 USB token.
Step 14: Verify DSC in Token
After importing the DSC, verify whether the certificate is available inside the token.
You can check using:
- HYP2003 token manager
- Windows certificate viewer
- DSC utility
- Government portal signing test page
- MCA/GST/Income Tax portal while signing
You should be able to see certificate details such as:
- Name
- Certificate validity
- Issuer
- Certificate class
- Signing certificate details

Common Problems and Solutions
Problem 1: Download Passcode Not Found
Reason
The passcode may have been sent during the first order creation, but the user may have missed the email or SMS.
Solution
Search your email/SMS using:
Care4Sign
Download Passcode
Order ID
DSC Download
Certificate Download
If still not found, contact Care4Sign support or your DSC vendor and ask them to resend the passcode.
Problem 2: Lookup Not Working
Possible reasons
- Wrong Order ID
- Wrong Download Passcode
- DSC not approved yet
- Internet issue
- Care4Sign server issue
Solution
Check whether the DSC is approved in the Pending DSC section. Then verify the Order ID and passcode again.
Problem 3: HYP2003 Token Not Detected
Possible reasons
- Token driver missing
- USB port issue
- Token not inserted properly
- Token hardware issue
Solution
Try these steps:
Remove and insert token again
Try another USB port
Restart the system
Install/reinstall HYP2003 driver
Run Care4Sign Token Application as administrator
Problem 4: Token PIN Incorrect
Reason
The HYP2003 token PIN is different from the Care4Sign login password and Download Passcode.
Solution
Ask your DSC vendor for the token PIN. If the token was provided by a vendor, they may have set the PIN during token preparation.
Problem 5: DSC Approved But Import Fails
Possible reasons
- Token driver issue
- Wrong token PIN
- Old token application
- Certificate already downloaded
- Token memory issue
Solution
Install the latest Care4Sign Token Application and token driver. Also check with your DSC provider whether the certificate has already been downloaded once.
Important Security Tips
- Do not share your Download Passcode publicly.
- Do not share your token PIN with unknown people.
- Do not upload your DSC certificate anywhere manually.
- Always download DSC directly into the USB token.
- Keep your HYP2003 token safely.
- Change token PIN if required and supported.
- Use official Care4Sign or vendor-provided software only.
Final Notes
The updated Care4Sign DSC process is simple once you understand the difference between login password, Download Passcode, Order ID, BP Code, and token PIN.
The most important point is this:
The Download Passcode is usually sent during the first registration or DSC order process by email/SMS. After your DSC is approved, use the same Order ID and Download Passcode in the Care4Sign Token Application to import the DSC into the HYP2003 token.
Once the DSC is successfully imported, your HYP2003 token is ready to use for signing on supported portals.
